The Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound division of the MIAMI Association of Realtors (JTHS-MIAMI) recently collected hundreds of pairs of socks for the homeless in Palm Beach County—the latest service project for a REALTOR® group impassioned on making a lasting impact on our local community.

JTHS-MIAMI has conducted many community service projects this year, of which include: collecting books for needy local children, raising money for local drowning awareness, collecting food, clothes and assisted in the cleanup in Southwest Florida after Hurricane Ian, collecting items for U.S. military personnel, participating in National Beach Clean Up Day and more. JTHS-MIAMI has an upcoming food drive and Silver Angels program (gifts for local seniors through Salvation Army).

“Realtors love our local communities, and we are always thinking how we can help,” JTHS-MIAMI President Brad Westover said. “Socks are the top-requested item at homeless shelters, but they are the least donated item. We wanted to make a difference in collecting socks for the homeless to help them stay warm as we head deeper into the fall and winter.”

JTHS-MIAMI Realtors Collect 650+ Pairs of Socks for the Homeless

JTHS-MIAMI recently donated 656 pairs of socks for men, women, and children for the non-profit, The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County.

The Homeless Coalition was formed in 1986 and incorporated in 1989 as The Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, Inc.  Over the past 30 years, the face of homelessness has changed.  Today 1 in 5 children living in Palm Beach County are living in poverty.
