Events – Miami to Manhattan

I had a great time celebrating Miu Miu’s grand opening in the ever-expanding Design District last night. The flagship is enormous, bigger than the one in Europe. We had Caipirinhas and were able to view and try on the pieces at the store… my favorite (naturally) being a loud pair of signature style Miu Miu platform pumps.

NYonAir, the company famed for their aerial shots of the city and a go-to for many Instagrammers, has launched in Miami! I had a great time at the event connecting with other bloggers/photographers and I’m looking forward to the shots that will come out of this new addition… Miami is the perfect place for it.

This past Saturday, Aerie hosted the “Love Your Selfie” event at the Mondrian South Beach pool – and aerial photographer Gray Malin captured the whole thing in the biggest unretouched selfie! Love the message behind the #AerieReal campaign, promoting self-love and advocating for less photoshop. And well, can’t go to the Mondrian and not pose with my fave… Baron Von Fancy. This must be the place, indeed!

I had such a blast at this event, mostly because it was held at Alchemist on Lincoln Road and it has some of my favorite views of Miami. See here, and here. I’m obsessed with everything all white, so this was heaven for me. They had machines where you could practice your free throws, and there’s a Snapchat video of me hitting myself in the head with the ball coming back at me (this was the setup), but I’ll save it for a rainy day.

Snippets from a very busy week. 1. Clover Canyon presentation. 2. Nanette Lepore. 3. Luis Antonio Moda, a personal favorite. 4. Backstage Paris Hilton at Michael Costello. 5. The obsession with Flash Tattoos continues…

I made a mental list after being engulfed by so much fashion (namely an ocean of Valentino Rockstuds and enough Boy bags to fill up Versailles) of all the things I need, to survive if you will, for the upcoming season. My biggest necessity by far has to be a midi to floor length silky cardigan, completely impractical and the chicest thing I ever saw.

Between the torrential downpours and the scalding heat, Miami was clearly shaken up by the arrival of media, models and fashion leaders for MBFW Swim. I was fortunate enough to be able to catch a few shows, my favorite being the playful and sassy Beach Bunny runway – although I absolutely adored the simplicity of Minimale Animale and the one-pieces at 6 Shore Road. So excited to see what’s in store for NYFW in September. x
