In Drake’s relatively new song “The Language,” he croons: “I might just bring in some girls from Miami to heat up the city…”  Hm. Now this got me thinking, of course. For all of the times that I have spewed vitriol from my lips about my hometown, there are a million times in which I have felt grateful for my city. Grateful to be a ‘girl from Miami.’ And not just when we’re winning NBA titles (3-peat?).  And not because Drizzy counts on my people as heating devices. We are loud as a whole. We’re… interesting. We’re definitely relentless. We do not under any circumstances take no for an answer. And according to Drake, we make places warmer just by being present. Sometimes it takes a famous rapper on a top 10 song being overplayed by 103.5 The Beat (no complaints here) to realize how lucky you have it. After all, this is just another day in January…

I’m absolutely loving one-piece swimsuits lately. This one by Mara Hoffman is another great one (and this one! Gotta love Mara), and I LOVE this one by Vix Swimwear.
