If you’ve read my Holy Grail Beauty Routine post or my Updated Beauty Routine post, then you know I tend to stick to the classics. Since then, I’ve updated my routine just a little bit — adding some new favorites to my arsenal. These have been my ride or die products over the course of the last six months and they’re the perfect combination to add a little natural glitz over the holiday season.
Foundation: Maybelline’s FitMe, Matte and Poreless + the FitMe Powder when I’m feeling extra oily, in shade 202.
Why? I’ve always used Chanel’s Vitalumiere Aqua, only changing it up once in a while, because it’s safe, won’t cause me break outs or oxidize and I like the sheer texture and coverage that doesn’t feel caked. My favorite foundations are all light to medium coverage, just a little bit to even out my pores and discoloration.
I was wandering through the drugstore and decided to give FitMe a try, at $6 vs. Chanel’s $45+ it’s a steal. I’ve been in love ever since. The coverage is light but buildable, has never broken me out, and it matches my skin perfectly. I love how moisturizing it is while still keeping me matte. Whenever I want some extra coverage, I just add some of the powder and I’m ready to go.
Lashes: Ardell Lashes
Why? These are obviously classics for anyone who’s into makeup — I personally never wore falsies much before. After I started getting extensions, I became obsessed with lashes but didn’t like how often I had to go get them refilled (about every 2 weeks at $150+ a pop) so now I stick to my favorite falsies and mascara (more on it below), the Ardell Wispies or Naturals. I love that they make me look instantly awake and rested, and if you wear subtle ones they look like a natural boost to your eyes.
As for mascara, I can’t say enough great things about L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes! Always a favorite.
Lips: Givenchy Le Rouge Perfecto Beautifying Lip Balm
Why? I love carrying this super luxe lip balm in my bag! It’s perfect for the winter months when you need a little bit more moisture, plumps up your lips and gives them a beautiful, natural pink sheen.
Bronzer: Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Medium
Why?: I received this one as a Sephora VIB and became obsessed with how naturally bronzed and tan it makes me look. I love applying this around the hairline on my forehead and my cheekbones for some extra color — it’s light and the perfect shade of tan.
Sparkle: Burberry’s Fresh Glow Highlighter in Rose Gold and Kevyn Auction’s Celestial Highlighting Powder
Why? Both of these are incredible; I LOVE Burberry’s beautiful packaging as always, and the Kevyn Aucoin highlighter comes with a mirror perfect for applying your makeup. Both of them give a glow without harsh glitter, and just a little dab makes gives you the perfect natural glow.
