Last week, I had the pleasure of cruising the Atlantic on Anthem of the Seas, Royal Caribbean’s premier ship with a port in New Jersey…
First of all, I had never been on a cruise before so this was all new to me! Growing up in Miami, I had always spent weekends on boats with friends, but never a cruise. The experience was definitely different: I loved having a stateroom with a balcony, so even while just cruising I felt serene by the sea.
After a few days of cruising, a ton of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries and exploring what the ship has to offer (I tried to work out at the gym every day but the prospect of laying out by the pool was so much more appealing), our first stop was in CocoCay, Bahamas. We found an amazing area that was completely deserted and untouched (just our vibe!) and hung out, took photos with an amazing Leica thanks to Adorama, tanned in my Bianca Coletti bikini and sipped on rum.
I ended up getting extremely sunburned because I was under the impression that “I don’t burn” and passed on the SPF. Take my advice and never, ever do this. When we docked at Nassau, me and my third-degree burn laid under an umbrella in an adorable Red Carter Swim romper and sipped on fresh rum in my coconut, with 100+ Neutrogena SPF (which, P.S., costs twice as much at The Atlantis).
We had an amazing, relaxing day laying out at the Atlantis’ private beach, sipping on the best rum drinks ever and having conversations with the locals (so friendly!). Our last stop was in Port Canaveral, where we continued to, you guessed it, lay out in Cocoa Beach and sip on margaritas. I had just flown from Orlando to NYC a few days prior for a wedding, and weddings can really take it out of you! This was the perfect vacation to unwind and recharge, and the best part was being able to board the ship right in my backyard.
Thank you to Royal Caribbean for collaborating on this post.
