My favorite season is here! I’ve been whipping out all of my fall favorites this week: scented candles, knits, throws, scarves… and all of my beauty essentials to make sure I’m ready to take on the unpredictable New York City season.
The minute fall starts here, it’s cold one day, warm the next.
My skin is just as unpredictable as the season, but the colder climate tends to bring on sporadic dryness. If you’ve seen my skincare routine, you already know how I prep my face for this. For my body, I try to use all natural products to prevent any kind of adverse reactions. Here’s how I prepare my body for fresh skin from fall to the coldest winter temperatures.
- Lush Sugar Scrub. I like to start with an exfoliant 2-3 times a week to remove any dead skin and impurities that naturally accumulate. This also creates a clean slate for all of the products you use afterward. This particular exfoliant from Lush is gentle, made with all natural ingredients, and helps brighten skin.
- Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Yogurt Body Wash. I follow up with a loofa and this Aveeno body wash. It’s easy on my skin and contains all of the essential vitamins and nutrients found in yogurt to replenish my skin after I exfoliate and keep it moisturized. Bonus: I love the apricot & honey scent.
- Coconut Oil. To keep my skin luminous and hydrated, 2-3 times a week I try to use coconut oil after my shower and leave it on for about 15 minutes. I usually use it on my most affected areas (arms and legs), wait until it’s fully absorbed and wash it off. The results are smooth, incredibly moisturized skin.
- Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Yogurt. Like this name suggests, this is my daily formula for warding off dryness. I use it after every shower, whenever I need an extra boost and to keep my skin feeling healthy. The best part about it is that its effects last 48 hours — perfect for those with active lifestyles like myself.
