Before you say anything, I think it’s important we get something out of the way: no I couldn’t find a shorter skirt. I usually don’t like my skirts to be so micro-mini, but with all the Cuban food I’ve been consuming these past few weeks, my derrière has turned my usually socially acceptable H&M mini into the microest mini on the planet. And I wasn’t about to change so I guess I deserved the resulting turn of heads I got everywhere from Beaver Street to Broome. I look so thrilled in most of these photos (as opposed to my usual Victoria Beckham-esque poker-face) and I think it’s because spring has finally hit Manhattan, and the worst winter I’ve ever had here is finally over. I can’t say I didn’t enjoy some of the fluffy snow in Central Park, or watching it come down by the window, but after months of gloomy, snowy weather and having to watch out for black ice on the street (lest I trip and break my face), the cherry blossoms and sunshine is the most welcomed surprise. I do mean surprise, because after that season I was convinced the apocalypse was upon us. I had the best day walking around SoHo with Daniela — she took me to Happy Bones, a place that has effectively become my newest favorite coffee place. In fact, I’m off to go grab some iced coffee over there as we speak! We also walked by Maya Hayuk’s Bowery wall, which was mandatory given my post at her wall in Miami a few weeks ago. Eventually we ended up at that garden on Houston (You know the one? Near Bowery? Which you, like myself, have probably passed by 100 times and never been inside?) with the most beautiful cherry blossoms. All in all, a perfect first day back.

  1. I just discovered you and you blog and am so so glad I did. Love your style and that skirt looks so great on you – even if you think it’s too short. 😉 There’s so much greatness going on in this outfit I feel the need to tell you I love the bag, your mani, the sweater, the necklace, the shades and the shoes! Head to toe wow. Lots of love to you!
